DVD Writer stuck at 1%

Have you experienced whenever you try to burn cd/dvd, Nero stuck up on 1%? I've been searching the world wide web for ages to solve my problem. I've tried different approach from updating drivers to almost flashing my firmware. I have high hopes that my dvd drive isnt defective since it can read dvds with no problem, only burning. Here's what I did to solve my problem,

1. I installed imgburn application
2. Imgburn warns me that there is sptd driver installed "SPTD can have a detrimental effect on drive performance".
3. Then I uninstalled SPTD driver (download the installer from http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads/ then run the installer and click uninstall)
4. Restart the pc
5. Try to burn again without any other programs running
6. Burn success

I think the SPTD driver (from daemon tools) is the culprit. After uninstalling it, I burn an image successfully
